The Symmetrical Transit by everythursday » excerpt: Seven
"Everything is supposed to be level."
"Equal proportion, ranger. Like… like how when you jump into water, right. Like a pool. and when you submerge, all the water that had been where you were, is now pushed out… pushed up. So it equals out. Water rises equal to your body mass. The world adjusts like that. Or it’s supposed to."
"What does that have to do with personality development, Malfoy?"
"Don’t laugh. I’m serious. It’s the same thing, that’s what it has to do with it. If you’re… if you’re really afraid, right? If you have a lot of fear in your life, then you should have a lot of safety as well. You should have something to balance that out. Like body mass and water. Because if water didn’t adjust to form around you, you would hit it like concrete. And if you have a lot of fear and no safety in your life, that’s like hitting concrete too. Because you’re nervous, and paranoid, skittish, distrusting. It shapes personality.”
